- Our Process

Team FacilitationAs in all of our workplace conflict management services, the focus of our team facilitation programs is on the provision of practical interventions versus personality insights. The practical inventions developed in these meetings focus on communication patterns and measurable interventions that can be immediately implemented with clear expectations of all involved persons, fostering continued trust building and accountability.

To ensure the value of our team conflict facilitation programs, we have designed a four-part program that ensures every team facilitation is as effective and relevant as possible. Our four service components:

  1. Data gathering: Prior to the meeting, all those participating are requested to confidentially submit anonymous feedback and information, as well as individually participate in a brief telephone call, at the employee’s convenience, to discuss any specific concerns and increase comfort with the meeting, process, and facilitator. Our data gathering process ensures that all team members have the opportunity to voice their concerns and perspectives in a safe and confidential manner, thus increasing the effectiveness of the facilitation.
  2. Data Analysis: Meeting facilitator reviews all information supplied to identify existing barriers to effective teamwork and problematic communication patterns prior to the onsite meeting facilitation.
  3. Team Facilitation Meeting: This is a working meeting with all team members present. As a group, with the assistance of the facilitator, the team: A) Identifies team strengths and weaknesses, B) Identifies threats to successful team process, C) Determines measures that support and promote trust and accountability, and D) Design (and create if possible) structures and systems to support measures and objectives.
  4. Written Report of Meeting Outcomes: A written report summarizing the issues and items identified and created as a result of the meeting. This serves as a description of the intervention arranged by the organization and a reference of the determined methods to address the identified team-based problems. As is possible, this report will specifically detail measurable workplace structures to prevent ambiguity or misunderstanding, while supporting ongoing accountability and trust among all team members and management.

The purpose of data gathering and analysis portions of the service provision is solely to support the effectiveness of the team meeting. A vital component, it allows the work of the meeting to start prior to the actual face-to-face gathering by promoting individual team member trust of the facilitator and process, as well as the allowing the facilitator to tailor the meeting to address the specific concerns of the team.

As always, we fully respect the confidentiality of the employer and participants. None of the information shared with CFR by the individual team members or other members of the client organization is disclosed, unless specific permission has been provided to the CFR facilitator for the purposes of the program. In addition, we do not disclose the name of those employers utilizing our services without their express permission.
