Divorce Mediation – Why Mediate A Divorce?

Chicago Tilted Kilt: Workplace Sexual Harassment

On June 1, a complaint alleging workplace sexual harassment was filed in the Chicago office of the federal Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC) against the Tilted Kilt bar and restaurant.
The complaint, filed on behalf of 10 current and former waitresses, alleges that a manager at the downtown Chicago location has engaged in inappropriate and sexually harassing behavior repeatedly since the restaurant opened in 2009. Workplace Behavior – Accessing Electronic Records

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Chicago police officers have accessed and printed electronic records inappropriately. Up to 1000 officers may face official discipline for the transgression.
The specific record accessed details an allegation of sexual assault against two on-duty Chicago police officers by a local woman. The records were accessed within three weeks of the incident. It is not clear as to the officers motivation for looking at the report. (more…)

Everyone, at some point, ends up in a conflict with someone else. And, despite what it may seem like at the time, no one likes being personally involved in a heated dispute with another person or entity: if the outcome did not matter the conflict could not really exist as it would no longer be “fed” by the disputants.
Conflicts come in all shapes and sizes – and some are extremely heated. Those in dispute may not be able to look at one another without feeling experiencing anger and hurt. Role of the CFR Mediation Coordinator

Conflict can happen in most any circumstance. Regardless of the setting or nature of the relationship, conflict is experienced personally. The emotions experienced and potential realities of the dispute can make even the most levelheaded person react in ways that does not facilitate resolution and can even seem to make the conflict grow.
When we are in a conflict we tend to want the issue to go away, or, at least, stop hurting. (more…)

He has over 30 years experience in the conflict resolution field, including real estate, family, and business issues. An entrepreneur and master negotiator, he possesses both legal knowledge and expertise.
- An attorney with over 15 years of experience in securities, antitrust, and consumer litigation. A full-time mediator, she serves as judge pro tem, special master and neutral.
- An educator, with a doctorate in social anthropology, and master’s degree in dispute resolution from Pepperdine University. Active in the Los Angeles conflict resolution service community, she has traveled and lived all over the world and brings a unique perspective into her interactions with disputants.
- A licensed attorney with over 20 years experience in the resolution of contract, business to business, neighbor, association and other related disputes.
- First entering the legal field as a paralegal, this licensed attorney has over 25 years experience. Today her practice is dedicated to bringing a mediated resolution to a variety of disputes including family, business, and workplace conflicts.
- A therapist mediator, certified by the Los Angeles County Bar Association, with over 30 years of experience working with children and families. Her focus is on assisting families create structure their divorce and parenting plans in ways that will work for them.
